Wanderers

Today I saw

  • A wanderer, rolling a smoke; all of  his belongings stuffed into a 20lb, burlap Basmati Rice sack.
  • A wandering street drummer with a cigarette dangling from his lips.  He wore a black, knit cap with skull & crossbones and pushed his drum kit [a stack of plastic buckets precariously balanced on a skateboard] across the bricks of Pioneer Square.  Two battered cymbals hung from the drum sticks in the top bucket.
  • A tiny traveler, two feet tall at the most.  He was dragging a Sponge Bob Square Pants, rolling suitcase and looking so proud and purposeful among the lost boys and girls of the street.

I took these photos a couple of years ago.  I wondered where this fellow had been and where he was going…
